SOME 53 Badjao families who temporarily lived in Tabaco, Puntod this city will soon be transferred to a new and comfortable place where they call their own.
The Badjao families’ relocation at barangay Bayabas is an initiative of the Badjao Task Force and Psychosocial Association of the Philippines (PSAP) led by Ms. Merlie Adaza.
The present area where the Badjao families lived is not a suitable place for dwelling as it is located near the seaport.
For her part, Ms. Sorayma Aralpani, who represented the Badjao community, is very thankful to the administration of Mayor Oscar Moreno and PSAP for addressing their sad plight.
The Badjaos are the usual beneficiaries of PSAP’s activities like gift-giving last Christmas; values formation; feeding program and many others.
In fact, some 16 Badjao unmarried couples will tie the knot on February 13, 2016 in a mass wedding ceremony through Badjao rituals at Sonresa Beach in Bayabas, this city.
