THE personnel of the City Social Welfare and Development Office under CSWD Officer Teddy Sabuga-a, undergone ‘Training on Therapeutic Communication & Restraints Procedures in Handling Persons with Mental Disability’ on March 11, 2016 at Sonrisa Vista Beach, this city.
The training aims to gain personnel, who are engaged in the ‘reach out operation’, better knowledge and understanding in performing their tasks.
Ms. Stella Ferrarez, psychosocial unit head of CSWD, said assigned staff at the Residential Care for Elderly and Differently Abled need this kind of refresher training in order to be more efficient and effective in handling persons with mental disorder.
The administration of City Mayor Oscar Moreno is looking after the welfare and needs of the mentally-challenged person in order for them to bring back to their normal lives.
In fact, the city is planning to put up a Mental Hospital so as to cater the basic medical treatment of said patients.
