"Teaching is one profession whose nobility is beyond imagination."
This was how Mayor Oscar Moreno described his admiration to teachers during today's (December 4, 2017) Year-End Performance Assessment at the Atrium of Limketkai Center.
In his message, Mayor Moreno said education is one service on the part of the government and a right on the part of the citizenry.
Vice Mayor Rainier Joaquin Uy also joined in the celebration together with Councilors Suzette Magtajas-Daba, George Goking, Reuben Daba, Jay Roa Pascual, Maria Lourdes Gaane and Annie Daba.###

Mayor Oscar Moreno together with City Councilors Maria Lourdes Gaane, Jay Roa Pascual, George Goking and Reuben Daba joined the annual convention of the Barangay Health Workers Monday, December 4, 2017 @ Grand Caprice Restaurant.
City Health Officer Fe Bongcas, Dr. Rachel Dilla and Dr. Ignacio Moreno and other City Health officers and personnel also joined in the celebration.

For the first time, Cagayan de Oro City under the administration of Mayor Oscar Moreno, bags the Green Banner award, city-wide level. The awarding ceremony was held today, November 24, 2017, during the 2017 Regional Nutrition Awarding Ceremony and Launching of the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition 2017-2022 at Luxe Hotel. Mayor Oscar Moreno delivered his acceptance message while City Councilor and Majority Floor Leader Ian Mark Nacaya accepted the award. Also in attendance were City Health Officer Fe Bongcas, Nutrition Coordinator Nenita Rabe, and Kauswagan Brgy Chair Pedro Balite. Mayor Moreno in his speech said, health and nutrition is a very vital component in resiliency.###

For the seventh time, barangay Kauswagan was named anew as the “Best in Lupon Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards” grand winner.

Kauswagan barangay chairman Pedro Balite and his lupon members received P110,000 in cash prize plus trophy handed over by Mayor Oscar Moreno and City DILG Director Engr. Jane Docallos during Monday’s flagraising at City Hall, November 27, 2017. 

First runner up barangay Camaman-an got P90,000 cash prize and trophy, while second runner up barangay Canitoan took home P70,000 cash prize and trophy.

Rounding up the list of Top 9 Barangays which also each got P10,000 consolation prizes were: Nazareth (No. 4), Gusa (No. 5), Patag (No. 6), Macabalan (No. 7), Bugo (No. 8) and Lapasan (No. 9).

The “Best in Lupon Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards” is an annual search among outstanding Lupon Tagapamayapa who passed DILG’s performance standards on its promptness and quick disposition/resolution of cases filed before barangay courts. (IAF/photos by Nic Anches)

Cagayan de Oro City reaps another national award after being declared as champion in the 6th Awards for Excellence in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for Local Government Units or eGOV Awards under the Best in Digital Payment category.

Ms. Eileen San Juan, Local Economic and Investment Promotions Officer and Asst. City Treasurer Engr. Leonil Mistula received the citation from Dept. of Information and Communication (DICT) Undersecretary Monchito Ibrahim and National ICT Confederation of the Phils. (NICP) President Stephanie Caragos during the awarding ceremony, November 17, 2107 at Rosario Pavilion, Limketkai Center, this city.

Declared as second placer is the municipality of Cavinti in Laguna Province while third placer is the municipality of Silang in Cavite Province.

Cagayan de Oro City’s winning entry is the Internet Online Services of the City Treasurer’s Office, featuring its user-friendly online tax payment and billing system that gives convenience and comfort to taxpayers and businessmen using the city’s official website: www.cagayandeoro.gov.ph.
