MAYOR KLAREX, CITY DADS IN BSP-CDO COUNCIL INVESTITURE, LEADERS FORUM

Carrying their theme ‘Growth and Stability’, the Boy Scouts of the Philippines-Cagayan de Oro (BSP-CDO) Council held their Leaders Forum and Investiture Program at the city-owned JR Borja Hospital (JBGH) Training and Conference Hall on Monday (Feb. 17) with Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy and city officials in attendance.
 
The investiture included the donning of BSP neckerchiefs and presentation of certificates to the new council members with Mayor ‘Klarex’ as honorary chair, Congressman Rufus B. Rodriguez as honorary co-chair, and Vice Mayor Jocelyn ‘Bebot’ Rodriguez as honorary vice chair.
 
Also inducted were city councilors, department managers and barangay chairpersons, along with existing members from the Department of Education (DepEd), school officials and the Boy Scout training team.
 
The program also unveiled the 2025 scouting activities, such as training enhancement skills and the Basic Training Course for Kawan, Troop, and Outfit Leaders that were aimed at enhancing survival skills and resilience among scouts.
 
City Administrator and concurrent BSP-CDO Council chairman Roy Hilario P. Raagas, provided updates on the organization’s special projects, including the ‘Adopt a Boy Scout Project’ in which Mayor Klarex pledged ₱100,000, Congressman Rodriguez contributed ₱50,000, and Vice Mayor Bebot donated ₱20,000.
 
Additional pledges were given by councilors and other new members of the BSP. Raagas also gave updates on the CDO BSP-Misamis Oriental GSP Jamboree Site Development Project, funded with ₱75 million by the office of Cong.
 
Rodriguez that is expected to be completed in December this year.
 
The site will house buildings, an arena, and a road network. Raagas said City Hall’s support remains crucial in sustaining the BSP-CDO Council’s programs. (MDS/Photos by: Roel Felicitas/CIO)
