THE 21st City Council, headed by Vice Mayor Jocelyn 'Bebot' Rodriguez, showed their support to the Capitol University Glee Club (CUGC) who will represent Cagayan de Oro City and northern Mindanao in the upcoming National Music Competition for Young Artists (NAMCYA) 2025.

The event is scheduled on November 23 this year at the Metropolitan Theatre in Manila under the Senior Category.

During Monday’s (Nov. 5) regular afternoon session, the CUGC rendered a song number and requested for financial assistance for their participation in the national competition.

Composed of 27 members, the team is making its second attempt to join the prestigious contest after their first attempt in 2012 faltered due to incomplete participant requirements, said CUGC conductor Alejo M. Tugonon.

Tugonon conveyed his gratitude to the city officials for their support, saying, 'We are indebted for the opportunity to seek their help.'

The CUGC is also open for invitations to perform at weddings, birthdays, and other events through their official Facebook page, Capitol University Glee Club. (MDS/CIO/Photos by: Jomar Figuracion/CIO)
