COUNCILOR Roger G. Abaday commended on Wednesday (Nov. 5) the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA-10) local office for their successful drug bust operations on targeted suspects.
Abaday cited two PDEA operations that resulted in the arrest of two suspects and yielded a combined value of more than P20 million worth of shabu during the 21st City Council’s afternoon session held on Wednesday.
Abaday said a joint operation last Oct. 22 by the PDEA Misamis Oriental Provincial Office at a local mall resulted in the confiscation of one kilo of shabu worth P1 million along with drug paraphernalia and a vehicle used to transport the shabu.
That operation was supervised by Intelligence Officer Expedito Cardona, together with the Regional Enforcement Unit (RDEU) Team and the PNP City Intelligence Unit led by Maj. Mario Mantala.
Another PDEA operation led by Cardona with the City Intelligence Office of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO) under Maj. Dennis Rowell Flores and RDEU-10 led by Maj. Jayvee Babaan, resulted in the arrest of two suspects and seizure of 17 kilos of shabu with a street value of P22 million.
Charges were filed against the suspects, Councilor Abaday said adding that the campaign against illegal drugs in the city should be sustained. (MDS/CIO/Photos by: Jomar Figuracion/CIO)
