The city government of Cagayan de Oro under the leadership of City Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy extends its warmest congratulations to some 64 female persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) who successfully completed junior high school and Alternative Learning System (ALS) non-formal education program.
The 44 ALS graduates and 20 junior high school completers from Lumbia National High School took part in the graduation ceremony held at the Cagayan de Oro City Jail Female Dormitory in barangay Lumbia on March 30.
The basic literacy program of the Department of Education-Cagayan de Oro City Division, under City Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Angelo E. Gazo, and Cagayan de Oro City Jail, headed by City Jail Warden JSInsp Mary Rose Pacana, aims to empower individuals with functional literacy and skills to improve their quality of life and become productive members of society.
