THE Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation convened its second quarterly meeting, drawing over 70 youth leaders of various barangays in Cagayan de Oro City on Sunday, June 28.

 

Led by SK Federation President and City Councilor Kenneth John Sacala alongside the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) city office, the assembly focused on establishing clean and orderly transition protocols ahead of the upcoming elections this November.

 

The discussions highlighted the strict implementation of DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2026-021, which mandates all SK Chairpersons to officially form their respective SK Inventory Teams (SKIT).

 

This measure guarantees the accurate counting, documentation, and systematic turnover of all official records, funds, and properties to the incoming administration.

 

This transition phase is closely supervised by the Oro Youth Development Office (OYDO) through the ongoing Oro SK Monitoring and Assessment.

 

The inventory records and overall compliance of each barangay will serve as basis for evaluation for the prestigious Oro SK Awards in August in line with the celebration of Oro Youth Month and International Youth Day.

 

The SK officials were also reminded to liquidate and settle all remaining financial accountabilities before their terms expire to prevent any legal sanctions under existing government auditing laws. (NG/CIO/photos by Sangguniang Kabataan-Federation Cagayan de Oro)
