THE 21st City Council’s public utilities committee deliberated on Proposed Ordinance No. 2026-272, titled ‘An Ordinance Adopting the Cagayan de Oro City Revised Traffic Code of 2026,’ on Wednesday, July 8, at the Session Hall of the City Legislative Building.
Chaired by Councilor Enrico Salcedo the deliberations were joined by Councilors Roger Abaday, Gigi Go, Maximo Rodriguez III and Agapito Suan.
Also present were department heads and representatives from the Roads and Traffic Administration (RTA), City Legal Office, City Administrator’s Office, City Planning and Development Office, Cagayan de Oro Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation, Inc. (Oro Chamber), the Cagayan de Oro Filipino-Chinese Community, the Northern Mindanao Federation of Transport Service Cooperatives, the Cagayan de Oro Federation of Motorela Associations.
To ensure that all stakeholders are given the opportunity to express their views, the committee agreed to conduct another round of discussions, this time inviting representatives of the trucking sector to present their position and provide input on the proposed amendments.
