POLISH TOP OFFICIALS VISIT ORO; PLAN TO EXPLORE AREAS OF COOPERATION

Top officials of the Republic of Poland in Manila paid a courtesy visit to City Mayor Rolando "Klarex" Uy on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, to discuss possible cooperation on areas along tourism and culture, health, social services, business, transportation, education, and environment.

Polish Ambassador to the Philippines Jaroslaw Szcepankiewicz, together with Minister Counsellor Anna Kzrak Danel, Expert Political Economic Jermaine Bohol, Head of Polish Trade Industry Bartek Wasiewski, and Honorary Consul Jondi Lacson, asked City Government officials to talk about the pressing issues that Cagayan de Oro is currently facing as well as the possible solutions that the government of Poland can contribute.
 
One of the issues raised by Mayor Klarex and some members of the 20th City Council is the need for improvement in the local healthcare services as Cagayan de Oro caters not only to the medical concerns of its residents, but also those from nearby areas.
 
City Councilor Malou Gaane, the chairman of the Committee on Health, also emphasized the need for better medical equipment of the city.
 
The Embassy of the Republic of Poland officials, for their part, said a partnership on healthcare programs may be realized with the active support of their country to the Philippines. (JAS-CIO/Photos by Rod Constantino-CIO)
