ORO MARCHING ARTS GUILD WON P50K MARCHING BAND TOP PRIZE

The Oro Marching Arts Guild won first place in this year's edition of the Marching Band Competition held during the launching of ‘Pasko de Oro’ Thursday afternoon, December 1, 2022.
 
The champion band brought home P50,000 in cash prize, followed by second placer Pilgrim Christian College, which received P30,000, and third placer Barangay Bayanga with P20,000.
Consolation prizes of P5,000 were each given to other participating contingents, namely Silverianz DBC, and the community bands of Barangays Lumbia and Patag.
 
City Mayor Rolando "Klarex" Uy, who witnessed the marching bands' performances, added P5,000 to all the above-mentioned cash prizes, earning loud cheers from the participants.
 
"Dako nakong kalipay ug pagpasalamat usab bisan tood gamay-gamay ra mo pero naningkamot gyud mo niining kasaulogan pagbukas sa atong kapaskuhan, inyo gyud ning gipaningkamotan," Mayor Klarex said.
Apart from grabbing the grand prize, Oro Marching Arts Guild also won the ‘Best Band Majorette’ and ‘Most Disciplined Group’ special awards.

Pilgrim Christian College also got the ‘Best in Musicality’ and ‘Best Band Master’ awards, while Barangay Bayanga received the ‘Most Lively Group’ award.
 
On the same day, the judges for the Paskorela have already started pre-judging the six motorelas adorned in colorful Christmas-themed decorations.
