CDO Goes On Community Quarantine

Following the casulaties from confimed and suspected COVID-19 cases in Cagayan de Oro, City Mayor Oscar Moreno issued the Executive Order No. 049-2020 placing the entire city under community quarantine on March 19, 2020. It aims to avoid the potential further  transmission of the corona virus in the city.

During the 6th Daily Press Conference on COVID-19, Moreno justified the issuance of EO  after 2 PUIs died while waiting for their test result on the virus at Northern Mindanao Medical Center. The two patients were not from City, urging him to reach in a decision to place the city under community quarantine

“The fact na dini nag expire, siyempre all that the more an so on. In that circumstance, I have concluded na kanahanglan nagyud ang community quarantine.” he said.

The EO will take effect starting at the midnight of March 19 and will last until further notice. It is expected that the movement of Kagay-anons will be limited in which to accessing basic necessities and work are. 

It was also stated in EO the Cagayan de Oro will constantly co-ordinate with the province of Misamis Oriental and certain municipalities of the province of Bukidnon to ensure efficient implemented of the EO to a wider scale.
