The Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Carmen expressed their gratitude to the City Government, the Philippine Business for Education (PBEd), and Citi Foundation for choosing their barangay as one of the pilot areas in Cagayan de Oro for the JobsNext Project.

On February 9, 2023, the City Government, under the administration of Mayor Rolando "Klarex" Uy, and PBEd officially launched the JobsNext Project, a training program designed to help the youth develop future-ready skills.
It targets 18 to 25-year-old studying, graduate, or out-of-school youths, as well as working and non-working individuals.

"Daghang salamat sa oportunidad ug tsansa nga inyong gihatag kanamo. Tungod niini, kami preparado na. It is one of the ways or skills training nga maka-preparar kanamo para sa among ugma kay wala kami kabalo kun unsa naay sa among ugma," Angelo Joseph Sabanal, the Sangguniang Kabataan chairman, of Barangay Carmen, said.

A total of 100 Kagay-anon youths underwent training programs under the JobsNext Project, and most of them were from Barangay Carmen.

Sabanal also thanked the city mayor for his programs aimed at helping the youth acquire the education they deserve by providing more city scholarships and opening more courses.

"Dako kaayo ang among pasalamat kang Mayor Klarex Uy sa iyang plano nga dugangan ang atong city scholars ug mo-open siya’g mga medical courses and other post graduate courses nga para kanato kabatan-onan makab-ot nato ang atong kaugmaon, naa tay tsansa nga mo-eskwela," Sabanal said.

"Busa kita mga kabatan-onan, let’s grab the opportunity. Dili nato palabyon kay it might not be given again to us, this opportunity," he added. (JAS-CIO/Photos by Kim Zaldivar/CIO)
