Kagay-anon youth boxers Nick Angelo Payla and Markus Tongco paid a courtesy call to Mayor Klarex Uy prior to their preparation in the upcoming Southeast Asean Games (SEA Games), March 13.
Payla and Tongco have stayed at the Lumbia training gym for awhile now and have received free meals and an allowance from the City Sports Commission.
Payla is a Grade 9 student at Pagatpat National High School, while Tongco is a graduate of Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in marketing management.
Payla and Tongco will be competing at the Southeast Asian Games, also known as the SEA Games, in Cambodia on May 5–17, 2023.
They will be traveling to Manila this afternoon to train in preparation for the event. The Southeast Asian Games is a biennial multi-sport event involving participants from the current 11 countries of Southeast Asia. (NLB/CIO/photos by Kim Zaldivar)
