Cagayan de Oro City athletes who brought pride and honor to the city after winning medals in the recently-concluded 2024 Batang Pinoy National Championships in Puerto Princesa, Palawan were recognized by city officials during Monday’s flagraising ceremony at city hall.
City Mayor Rolando "Klarex" Uy, together with the members of the 20th City Council headed by Vice Mayor Jocelyn ‘Bebot’ Rodriguez, and City Sports Development Office head Allby Cris "Beng" Waga, led the recognition rites.
Cagayan de Oro City delivered an outstanding performance after hauling a total of 31 medals, consisting of 8 gold, 11 silver, and 12 bronze medals.
Chess, boxing, and taekwondo emerged as the top gold medal producers, while athletics, basketball and badminton contributed to the medal tally during the week-long competitions initiated by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC). (MDS/photos by Reynan Baylin)
