GALING POOK EXECS VISIT CdeO AFTER BEING CHOSEN AS ‘GOVERNANCE HUB’

Written by
Two top executives of Galing Pook Foundation recently met with city officials to affirm Cagayan de Oro City’s selection as a ‘governance hub’.

The affirmation was personally relayed by Mr. Adrian H. Adove, Interim Executive Director of Galing Pook Foundation, and Mr. Edicio dela Torre, Galing Pook Foundation mentor, during their courtesy visit on Tuesday afternoon, December 10 at the City Mayor’s Office.

City Administrator Atty. Roy Hilario Raagas, who represented City Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy, and City Planning and Development Coordinator Chedilyn Aissa Dulguime, led the city’s welcoming party.

It can be recalled that Cagayan de Oro City was recognized by Galing Pook Foundation as a model or mentor under the auspices of the ‘Better Governance Without Borders: Promoting Collective Action Through the Cagayan de Oro City and Tagum City Governance Hubs’.

This is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through its Cities for Enhanced Governance and Engagement (CHANGE) Project, of which Cagayan de Oro is a pilot city.

Using the ‘hubs-and-spokes’ approach on its project implementation, Cagayan de Oro City will serve as ‘hub’, while its selected surrounding municipalities will act as ‘spokes’, aiming to achieve a responsive, participatory, and collaborative local governance. (CIO/photos by Kim Zaldivar)
