Cagayan de Oro City Hall under Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy’s administration gave due recognition to 10 barangays for their effective resolution of disputes at their level through the 'Lupong Tagapagpamayapa Incentives Awarding Ceremony' held Thursday (March 13) at the City Tourism Hall.

 

These barangays were recognized for their consistency in resolving local disputes which helped declog the case backlog in the courts and strengthening community relations.

 

The ceremony was co-hosted by the city office of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) headed by City Director Edward G. Bhagwani.

 

The top five barangays honored for their excellence in dispute resolution each received a plaque of recognition and cash prizes.

 

They were:

Top 1: Brgy. Gusa – ₱110,000 cash prize

Top 2: Brgy. Patag – ₱80,000 cash prize

Top 3: Brgy. Balulang – ₱60,000 cash prize

Top 4: Brgy. Kauswagan – ₱40,000 cash prize

Top 5: Brgy. Carmen – ₱20,000 cash prize

 

Barangays Balubal, Canitoan, Bulua, Bayabas and Camaman-an were also cited as finalists during the ceremony and were each awarded a certificate of recognition and ₱10,000 cash prize. (MDS/PHOTOS BY: KIM ZALDIVAR/CIO)
