Cagayan de Oro’s high ratings in the Aug. 2024 Cities and Municipalities Index (CMCI) of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) earned for the city the honor of being the Most Innovative Highly Urbanized City in Region 10 (Northern Mindanao).

 

The award given by the Regional Development Council (RDC-10) was received by Oro Trade Investments Promotions Center (ORO-TIPC) chief John Asuncion during a special ceremony held recently at the Robinson’s Place Event Center in Iligan City.

 

The RDC-10 cited Cagayan de Oro City’s exceptional socio-economic performance under Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy’s administration in the CMCI’s five pillars of Economic, Dynamism, Government Efficiency, Infrastructure, Resiliency and Innovation.

 

The award is part of the Amihanang Mindanao Breakthrough Innovations and Technologies (AMBIT) Awards, which highlight impactful innovation efforts driving regional development.

 

Under Mayor Klarex’s leadership, Cagayan de Oro City is taking strategic steps toward sustainable development and improved public services for its constituents. (MDS/CIO)
