With a second three-year mandate given to his administration, Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy pledged to double down on his commitment to deliver City Hall’s services straight to the people of Cagayan de Oro City.

 

‘Bahin kini sa pagbag-o sa paagi sa pagtrabaho sa gobyerno, sa paagi sa paghatud sa kalamboan, ug sa paagi sa pag-atiman sa atong mga katawhan (This is part of reforming the way our government works by way of delivering development that cares for the welfare of our people),’ Mayor Klarex told those in attendance during his City Mayor’s Term Report (CMTR) on Monday (June 16) at the Limketkai Center Atrium.

 

The program which kicked off at past noon with a Mass was attended by the city’s elected officials, barangay officials, representatives of national government agencies, the police and military along with barangay officials and City Hall’s bureaucracy. The mayor’s term report was held a day after the city marked its 75th City Charter Day anniversary.

 

In recounting his administration’s accomplishments in the first three years of his mandate, Mayor Klarex said the city’s economy managed to recover from the debilitating effects of the COVID-19 pandemic under his watch. Through programs like ‘Klarex Nga Serbisyo Sa Baryo’ (KSB), Mayor Klarex said City Hall’s services were brought straight to the barangays directly benefiting those in far-flung communities.

 

Mayor Klarex said his administration’s gains were validated in part by the accolades received by Cagayan de Oro including the city’s first Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) award it received in the second year of his term. Now armed with a second three-year mandate, Mayor Klarex said City Hall will expand its services to the people while building on socio-economic programs for the city’s growth.

 

Mayor Klarex said his administration will finish pending hospital projects and mega health centers to decongest the city-owned JR Borja General Hospital (JRBGH) while projects to accelerate the city’s development as the center of Metro Cagayan de Misamis will be guided by the Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) and the city’s zoning ordinance.
