CAGAYAN de Oro City Hall’s Community Improvement Division (CID) through their Cooperative Development Program joined the opening of this year’s Cooperative Development Month at the Provincial Capitol grounds on Sunday (Oct. 5).
City Administrator Atty. Roy Hilario Raagas and City Councilor Gilda ‘Gigi’ Go were on hand to join key officials and members of the Regional Cooperative Development Council, Provincial Cooperative League, Cooperative Development Authority (CDA-10) regional office, City Cooperative Development Council, and local cooperatives for the ceremonial opening.
Speaking in behalf of Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy, Atty. Raagas lauded the city’s cooperatives for being a ‘beacon of hope’ in uplifting and empowering communities.
Councilor Go, who chairs the 21st City Council’s committee on cooperatives, assured City Hall’s support saying they all share a unified vision for Cagayan de Oro City’s continued growth and the transformative impact of cooperatives on the city.
The Cooperative Development Month is observed in October to honor the vital role that cooperatives play in empowering communities, promoting inclusive economic growth, and fostering shared prosperity. (LRM/CIO photos by Kim Zaldivar/CIO & Dhor Ladao/CID)
