Two days after the tragic fire in Mega Heights subdivision in barangay Gusa that claimed the lives of three family members—a senior citizen, an adult, and a young girl—grief still hangs heavy in the air.
What was once a home filled with laughter and life, now stands as a painful reminder of loss.
In these difficult times, LGU-CDO has extended its hand to help ease the weight of sorrow. Through the City Social Welfare and Development Department (CSWD) Psychosocial Division, the surviving family member received psychological first aid—a gesture of compassion that goes beyond words.
The team offered not only professional support, but a listening ear, a comforting presence, and reassurance that in their pain, they are not alone.
To further assist the family, the LGU-CDO covered the costs of memorial services at the City Memorial Park, allowing their loved ones left behind to mourn their death with dignity and peace.
In addition, the LGU-CDO headed by Mayor Klarex Uy through CSWD Disaster Response Section provided ₱30,000 per casualty to the surviving family member as immediate financial assistance during this difficult time. (Nica Borja/CIO/photos courtesy of CSWD Disaster Response)
