THROUGH the assistance by the City Agricultural Productivity Operations Office (CAPOO), Barangay Puerto farmers showcased their produce during the ‘Klarex Nga Serbisyo Sa Baryo (KSB)’ program held on Saturday (Nov. 8 ) at Barangay Puerto, Cagayan de Oro City.
Members of the Nagkahiusang Maguuma Association and Maitom Free Farmers Association displayed their harvest and processed food for sale during the KSB which is also part of the government’s Kadiwa ng Pangulo agricultural program.
On the same day, CAPOO facilitated the turnover of Marine Area Protected Supplies such as marker buoys, lifejackets, ropes and food supplies for Barangay Puerto fisherfolk and nets for coconut farmers.
They also distributed seedlings on request such as jackfruit, cacao, guyabano, okra and eggplant.
CAPOO’s agricultural support brought opportunity to Puerto’s farming and fishing livelihood, reinforcing the city’s push for inclusive agricultural development. (LRM/CIO photos by Iren Fuentes/CIO and Jhoanne Abejo/CIO as edited by Tyrone Balhon)
