MORE THAN 800 RUNNERS BRAVE WEATHER TO JOIN CADAC RUN 2025

Written by ALR
CLOUDY skies and last night’s downpour failed to discourage more than 800 runners from joining Sunday’s (Nov. 9) 3.0 Run For Hope by the City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (CADAC) that kicked off at the Rio de Oro Boulevard and Kiosko Kagawasan.

The event that is divided into the three-kilometer and five kilometers categories is one of several in a month-long calendar of activities lined up to celebrate the 2025 Drug Abuse Prevention and Control (DAPC) Month 2025.

The activity done in partnership with the Happy Fee Events Organizing Service (Happy Feet Production) gathered hundreds of participants from national government agencies, private schools and institutions, running clubs, community-based drug rehabilitation programs (CBDRP) from 39 barangays and running enthusiasts in the city.

Personnel of the City Anti-Drug Abuse Division – Oro Wellness Center (CADAD – Oro Wellness Center) led by Acting Division Head Evangeline Isidro, CherrPayl Dela Cruz and Sunny Rae Cahayag delivered their messages of support, collaboration and unity in strengthening the city’s program and campaign against illegal drugs under the administration of Mayor Rolando `Klarex’ Uy.

With the theme: “Sa Bagong Pilipinas, Kalusugan ay Pahalagahan, Droga ay Inaayawan! (Pagpakabana, Panaghiusa, Sugdi sa kaugalingon. STOP the CYCLE!) the Fun Run is one of the highlights of the city’s month-long DAPC 2025 celebration. (ALR/CIO/Photos by Jhoanne Abejo, Reynan Baylin and Kim Zaldivar/CIO)
