CAGAYAN de Oro City Hall under Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy’s administration officially took a major step toward data-driven governance with the conduct of the 2024 Census of Population and Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) Data Turnover Ceremony on Monday, December 22.
The ceremony was led by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Misamis Oriental Provincial Statistical Office and held at the PSA Training Room in this city, marking the formal initiation of the CBMS data turnover process.
Engr. Ardines C. Cabrera, Head of the City Planning and Development Office (CPDO), represented the city government during the event and shared City’s strategic directions on how the CBMS results will be integrated into upcoming city programs once the data is officially released.
The turnover marks a milestone in the institutionalization of the CBMS, as mandated by Republic Act No. 11315. By gathering granular data at the household and barangay levels, the census provides the city with a comprehensive "poverty map" and a clearer picture of the socio-economic status of its residents.
