A RESOLUTION asking the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to temporarily suspend construction of an overpass project along Masterson Avenue in uptown Cagayan de Oro City was passed by the 21st City Council on Monday (Jan. 26).

 

The resolution was authored by Councilor Enrico Salcedo, chairman of the council’s public utilities committee, following his special report on the issue during Monday afternoon’s session.

 

Ongoing construction of the overpass had closed one lane on each side of the six-lane Masterson Avenue resulting to heavy traffic congestion especially during the morning and evening peak hours.

 

The proposed resolution is addressed to the Secretary of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), with copies furnished to the concerned regional director and district engineer.

 

Councilor Salcedo said DPWH officials and district engineers were invited by the committee to discuss solutions aimed at minimizing traffic inconvenience at the affected area. (MDS/CIO/Photos by: Jomar Figuracion/CIO)
