A new board of directors was elected during last Saturday’s 48th General Assembly and 50th anniversary of the City Hall Employees Multi-Purpose Cooperative held at the Limketkai Mall Atrium.
Among those elected were four retirees—Eldie S. Daayata, Nestor Caylo, Nida Eligan and Virgilio Obsioma—along with Myrna C. Dangcal, MPA of the City Information Office, Cecillia L. Galarrita of the City Budget Office, Rey Yap of the JR Borja General Hospital (JRBGH), Gina E. Racines of the City Finance Department and Cresencio Bagongon of the City Budget Office.

Speaking on behalf of Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy, City Administrator Hilario Roy Raagas cited CHEMCO’s stability as contributing to Mayor Klarex’s development agenda dubbed ‘RISE CDO—R for Regionalization and Metropolization, I for Institutional Development, Security and Safety, Economic Recovery and Sustainability—specifically on Economic Recovery and Sustainability.

‘CHEMCO averages P25 million to P30 million in loans given to their members…From an employees cooperative, it became a credit cooperative and then a multi-purpose cooperative…CHEMCO plays an active role in Mayor Klarex’s development agenda to provide economic security to City Hall employees and their families,’ Raagas said./Text by SC with photo by Rod Constantino of CIO
