Kagayanon studes to undergo OJT stint in Norfolk, USA under sisterhood youth program

Pastor Junnie Ree Pagunsan, the Senior Pastor of Far West End SDA Church, met with City Mayor Rolando "Klarex" Uy on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, to discuss the youth program between Cagayan de Oro and its sister city Norfolk, Virginia, USA.
 
Also present during the visit was City Councilor Suzette Magtajas Daba, the chairman of the Committee on Sister Cities Relations.

According to Pastor Pagunsan, as part of the youth program, selected students will be sent to Norfolk for their on-the-job training. The students will be staying with their host families in Norfolk.
"[The students] i-host sila didto so they can experience kung unsa nga area ang i-focus sa atong sister city," Pastor Pagunsan said.
 
Mayor Klarex Uy, for his part, extended his gratitude to Norfolk City Mayor Kenneth Cooper Alexander, Ph.D., through Pastor Pagunsan, for the congratulatory letter he received on his election as the city mayor of Cagayan de Oro.

"Cagayan de Oro City is indeed very grateful to have the City of Norfolk as one of our sister city partners. Through the passing years, we have endeavored in the promotion of educational, cultural and citizen exchanges, among others. We hope to expand these exchanges in the future," Mayor Klarex Uy stated in his letter addressed to Norfolk Mayor Kenneth Cooper Alexander.
 
The city mayor further stated that he believes the partnership between Cagayan de Oro and Norfolk would lead to greater heights in the years to come as he plans to develop relationships with other cities. (JAS-CIO/Photos by Aicy Soriano/CMO)
