Held at the City Hall, the ‘Klarex Uy All Breeds Pawshion Show’ was attended by around 40 pets, mostly dogs of different breeds, in their superhero costumes.

According to JCI Kagayhaan Gold, the event’s aim is to bring awareness to the five freedoms of animal welfare, namely: Freedom from Hunger and Thirst, Freedom from Discomfort, Freedom from Pain, Injury or Disease, Freedom to Express Normal Behavior, and Freedom from Fear and Distress.

City Veterinarian Dr. Perla Asis, for her part, welcomed and expressed her gratitude to the participating pet owners as she reminded them of their obligations as responsible pet owners.

City Councilor Jay Roa Pascual, the chairman of the Committee on Tourism as well as one of the judges of the event, said he plans to add the ‘Klarex Uy All Breeds Pawshion Show and Pet Blessing’ to the list of activities to be conducted during the ‘Higalaay Festival’.
