Waste no time in arresting Taguanao hit-and-run perpetrator

Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Rolando “Klarex” Uy tells the local police to immediately arrest the perpetrator in the hit-and-run incident that transpired early Sunday morning at the Pelaez Bridge in Taguanao, barangay Indahag this city.
The mayor made this order after he was briefed by Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (Cocpo) chief Col. Aaron Mandia, shortly after delivering his 100-day report at the City Hall Quadrangle.
“Kinahanglan madakop na sa madaling panahon. Dili na dugayon,” Mayor Klarex Uy said.
 
Mandia said they have already identified the perpetrator as a certain Stephen Neri, 27 years of age and a resident of Muco, Zayas, Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City. “We are now undergoing hot pursuit operation,” said Col. Mandia, who added that the person-in-interest was no longer in his residence.
 
Mayor Klarex Uy asked Col. Mandia to constantly update him on the developments of the case.
The person-in-interest allegedly drove the car, a black Hyundai Accent with plate number KAB 1246.
 
The incident was captured on video, which is now circulating in social media, with the Hyundai Accent hitting several persons after a scuffle, including a certain Paul John Levita, 26, who died on the spot, and a certain Rufus Levita, 22,who is in serious condition at the Northern Mindanao Medical Center.
 
The other victims, Jhane Valerie Canonero, 18 years of age and a resident of Bacoor, Cavite, and Prince B. Lopez, 19 of barangay Lumbia have been treated for various injuries at the same hospital. (CMO press release)
