CHO urged public: ‘Wear mask even at cemeteries’ visit’

Written by
The City Health Office highly encouraged the public to wear their face masks when they visit the cemeteries in Cagayan de Oro during the upcoming ‘UNDAS 2022’.

During a coordination meeting on Wednesday afternoon, October 12, 2022, CHO Medical Officer Jan Sherwin Samong said the public should still practice the minimum public health standards when they visit their loved ones in the cemeteries.

This includes hand washing, social distancing, and wearing of face mask.

"Although naa na man ta (new face mask policy) nga okay lang walay facemask sa outdoors pero ang general consideration sa DOH is that kung crowded kaayo mag-mask gyud ta," Samong said.
Samong also urged the public to get vaccinated or get their booster shots, and encouraged carpooling to ease traffic.

According to the medical officer, the upcoming ‘Undas’ will be the first major event in Cagayan de Oro that involves a huge movement of people.

"We encourage everyone nga pagdala mo'g inyong kaugalingon nga alcohol para at least anytime pwede mo maka-hand washing," Samong said.
"We'll try to make sure nga we'll come up with an advise one week prior sa celebration," he added.
