KLAREX TO RESOLVE COGON SIDEWALK VENDING IN A MEETING TOMORROW

Written by
Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Rolando "Klarex" Uy is set to meet with the Roads and Traffic Administration (RTA), City Local Environment and Natural Resources Office (Clenro) and other concerned agencies and offices tomorrow, November 15, 2022, for a final coordination meeting to address the issue on sidewalk vending around Cogon market.

According to Mayor Klarex, he will be implementing the new policies and regulations on sidewalk vending before the celebration of the Christmas season.

During the first coordination meeting last November 8, some policies and regulations have already been laid down, such as:
- No sidewalk vendors are allowed to sell on JR Borja, Captain Vicente Roa and Yacapin streets so as to prevent traffic congestion.
- Sidewalk vendors are only allowed to sell their products from 6:00 pm to 5:00 am.
- Sidewalk vendors are required to clean and collect their garbage. Each of them must have their own container, such as sacks, for trash.
- Vendors who violate the abovementioned policies and regulations will be fined and issued with Ordinance Violation Receipt.

Mayor Klarex also hoped that the affected sidewalk vendors will understand the City Government's decision in prohibiting sidewalk vending on JR Borja, Captain Vicente Roa and Yacapin streets.
